It's a boy!!!! đĻ⛹️
I had a checkup on Sunday and the doctor asked if we wanted to know the sex of the baby, and we said yes. She smiled and told us we're going to have a boy. I felt Gabe squeeze my hand and kiss my forehead but it took a minute to fully register; we're going to have a son. I think Mom would love a granddaughter as she already has a grandson, but I couldn't contain my happiness. I know he's going to teach him to fix cars, play baseball, and cook Puerto Rican food. We're both going to teach him Spanish, I know that too. He ordered this cake for the tiny gender reveal party I had. He could only get out of work for a bit, he was telling me just how hugely important this project is and how much money is involved; he was nervous because at least a million dollars are wrapped up in this project and he has to get it right. He was saying " I'm sorry I haven't been here more, my love. I just can't afford to mess this up. If anything goes wrong, I know they're going to fire my ass. " He didn't exactly say" mess up" but I can clean it up a bit here. đ¤Ŗ I heard him pleading with his boss to go with me to the doctor; something about his relative awkwardness is still somehow so endearing. He said " Boss, I need to have an hour or so on Sunday. My girl is going to the doctor and I haven't been able to go with her often. I need to know both my babies are going to be okay." He was reluctant as ever to leave me and I him, but he's right about getting our work done and doing our best; we need every cent we can save if we truly intend to go the house and baby route. Obviously, the baby is coming, but we hope to have a house before he gets too big so he has more room to play and he's going to need a room of his own. I guess that's it for now.
