This is another not so happy entry. Mom has a cousin living in Altadena and no one's heard from her in a while. We haven't been able to contact her and my aunt in Austria has been trying too without luck; everyone's been worried with the fire raging there. I don't know what to do as I can't go there and probably wouldn't have have much luck if I tried. I haven't heard from my friend Brian in over a week either; I've tried messaging him and calling him and he hasn't answered me. I tried to go to his house and check on him and his wife said he was at work. He texts me nearly every day as a rule, including from work, so that's no excuse. I have a feeling she told him he isn't allowed to hang out with me anymore though I wanted nothing from him but to nerd out with me over books, games, and metal. Trust me, I wouldn't do anything to jeopardize his marriage or my relationship with Gabe. Then there's the man himself; he came home so late, filthy and absolutely exhausted, apologizing for being late and touching me before he showerd, then grabbing me and holding me so tightly. He said " Baby, this is hell. I hate this; it's been non-stop bullshit all weekend and I don't know if I want to go back." Those words washed over me slowly, I took a second to fully absorb what he meant. Did he seriously get so frustrated and exhausted that he might actually quit? I hope so in my heart of hearts because I seriously worry what might happen to him if he keeps this up. I know he likes the part of the job where he gets to fix things or help people but these hours and the higher-ups pushing him like this really is bullshit. Apparently he was told he and his guys still aren't doing enough and they need to push even harder. They looked this man who worked nearly non-stop all weekend in the eye and told him this. π€¬π€¬π€¬He worked a solid 35 hours on a grand total of 10 hours of sleep. The other 3 hours he spent with me. I guess that's enough for now.
